Oakmont Rainbow Women, ORW, is a lesbian membership organization/club within Oakmont Village Association. We welcome all Oakmont Village women supportive of LGBTQ concerns and issues. With over 160 members, rainbow women represent many interests, areas of expertise and talents and come from varied and geographic locations. As a community of women, we celebrate our diversity and delight in the community we form in Oakmont Village.
ORW is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from the membership. Making decisions by general agreement, the Board shapes/plans/oversees the programs, activities and special interest groups (SIGs), with input from the membership. The Board seeks ideas that support our goals, and we encourage every member to submit ideas for a program, activity or SIG. Board member(s) or board appointed volunteers will coordinate and oversee each program or activity.
Opportunities to address and support our goals include:
- Socialize/Connect/Network with others who share similar life experiences.
- Gain knowledge about topics of interest to the LGBTQ community.
- Provide and receive social support within this lesbian community.
- Participate in community service relevant to LGBTQ needs.
